Get Rid of Rating Artists and Tracks#9

You absolutely know I’m right. It makes no sense to rate an artist, and again on Letterboxd and IMDb you cannot rate directors. It is a remarkably imprecise thing to do as an artist is not a work of art. Having individual songs listed and available to rate is also incredibly useless and is only causing endless clutter on the site. I’m sure the app would become a million times easier to manage without all that also. I implore you to think carefully about this one before immediately downvoting it. PRECISION. FOCUS. INTENSITY.

I see what you mean frfr but as much as i like an album its the individual tracks that lead me there a d tracks and artists are all iv really reviewd tbh

Rating artists is nonsensical, yes, but we should still have the option to rate tracks.

Also why do you keep comparing Musicboard with other apps that you mention all the time “…Letterboxd and IMDb…”. Honestly your suggestions appear to be quite toxic every time.

Remove Tracks, not artists. Artists could be rated after you have heard their whole Discography, and the rating would be the average rating of all their albums. Please don’t remove artists, but tracks are unnecessary.

removing the ability to rate tracks would remove literally half of the app’s purpose… it’s called musicboard not artistboard

Of course it wouldn’t be called artistboard. There is still albums, and last time I checked that’s music.

If you want to ruin my life, sure. I’m not in favor of literally deleting half the reviews on the app, and getting rid of a lot of users logs and reviews. It would just be a mess.

I agree with not rating artists. Maybe just have a heart option that adds them to a personal favourite artists section. But I completely disagree on the single track ratings. I like to use those to work out my overall score for an album and I like to see how my tastes differ from track to track with everybody else who votes.

I agree with the artists but I like rating the songs. It gives me a clearer idea of whether I actually liked the album or not.
